Another Update

Well, things are more like normal around here now that the first flood has occurred. The AC condensate overflowed onto the new carpet in the bedroom and messed up the surrounding wall as well. In addition, one of the burners on the stove blew up and melted down - something I've never seen before on an electric stove. Stunk and made a lot of smoke, but no damage, except to the stove. Was hoping to get everything in order at least once before crap started happening, but looks like that didn't happen. Anything, now that stuff is breaking faster than we can fix it, everything seems just real normal. More later.

Baitcamp Version 2.0 update

It's only been about a month since the big move, and a few things are starting to take shape. It's a rainy and stormy day, so a good day to take some pictures and update this blog. If you can tell nothing else, you can see that the outside view is a little better than the wooden fence that I used to face. The move took forever, and nerves and temper are still a little frayed, but hopefully those will improve over time. Haven't had time to fish yet (will probably wait until fall), but believe it or not, I've caught several hundred trout off that pier over the years, including my own personal best at 27 1/2 incher a few years ago. Will have more to add a little later.

Still working on the Baitcamp Baitcam to try and get it up on the net. Got it working on my internal network but not on the internet yet.

Bedroom still under construction - actually still in the design phase.

Baitcamp high tech op center - not much improvement noted here, except it's located somewhere other than the executive offices or the dining area. Also still under design and construction, but currently functional.

Ktichen which seems to have modern appliances which do not spray water all over the floor when used.

Still working on living room, part time bedroom, and family entertainment center.

An actual eating area complete with stools and relatively clean serving surface. Note vase in corner - it used to have a beta fish in it, but for some reason, the beta died a few years ago. Krispy the Cat still uses it for a drinking vessel.

Executive offices of Baitcamp Version 2.0 indicating a little more functional writing surface, usable chair, and less clutter.

Pool and surrounding vegetation viewed from porch looking northwest.

Looking further west approaching pool. Beer joint next door somewhat hidden by bushes.

Piers to house transient boat traffic patronizing beer joint next door.

Looking further west from pier across Clear Lake

Looking right (west) from pier

Pier view from front porch.

Setting up Baitcamp V.2.0

Baitcamp Version 2.0

Well, the move from Baitcamp Version 1.0 (discontinued) has been even more hectic than we imagined - taken longer, cost more, etc. However, most of the stuff has either been moved or thrown in the dumpster (we filled it up twice); and the process of reconfiguring the remains in the new surroundings is underway. At the present rate, it should all be up in a couple of more years. However, I posted a picture taken from a small net cam sitting outside my new front door which looks directly over Clear Lake facing south. Hopefully I will eventually be able to get live shots on the web from that camera - would really have been nice for Rita last year to see the lake rising and falling, etc. Anyway, I'll eventually get around to posting more pictures as Baitcamp Version 2.0 takes shape and replaces Version 1.0. Interesting side note, I was concerned about Krispy the Cat being able to find the new place, but there was no need to worry because he met me at the door of the new place when I brought the first load in - in other words, he moved before the rest of us did it seems like. More later.
